CONFERENCE WEEKEND OCTOBER 2012

 One of the perks of Matt's new calling (High Council) is that he has tickets available to him for Stake Conference, also one of the perks of living outside of Utah.  So, we decided to make a trip of it and go to Conference and the BYU/USU football game.  The football game was actually kind of a slow game.  The final score was 3-0 for USU.  But the game was still eventful because Matt almost got in to a fight with another fan.  Our tickets were all on the same row but we had four seats in the very middle that another family purchased.  After the first quarter the family still hadn't shown so we decided to all scoot down and sit together (my idea).  Well it was actually a horrible idea because when the family came late to the game and got to their seats we were using them.  The father became intense really quickly and thought we stole his seats.  Matt told him it was not a big deal and to calm down and it was a downward spiral from there.  I think once the guy saw Reiley, Bryson (beard and all) and Ethan (no shorty) he probably became intimidated.  It made the rest of the game awkward but we still had a great time even though his little family was sitting in the middle of all of us.

Luckily we had the next day to redeem ourselves.  We left early and got on TRAX to attend conference.  We had 2 extra tickets and thought we would just give them to a couple standing outside of the conference center.  Well, we met a cute little Spanish man and his daughter who had traveled from South America to attend conference.  We talked for them a bit on TRAX and learned that they had other family members who so badly wanted to go to conference but couldn't get a ticket.  It worked out perfect!  We were able to help them and our kiddos were able to watch how grateful this little family was.  Taking the kids inside the Conference Center was awesome!  They loved being able to see in person what they've only ever seen on T.V.  They really liked being there but got a little bored at times which was understandable since they are still so young.  I have been told that this weekend is going to be the start of a family tradition:)
