BEACH BUMMIN
While we were in California Alyson and Greg took us to one of their favorite spots in Huntington. Luckily between them, the Markhams and ward members we had lots of toys, boogie boards, tents and chairs. The kids had a blast at the beach. Prego me just sat there and got burnt. Abigail and Matt were in the water the whole time. Matt really loved boogie boarding once he figured it out. Abigail is our little fish. She's pretty daring and loved the surfs. Carter wasn't thrilled about the ocean at first. BUT-once he decided that he was safe and that there were no sharks or creatures out there he loved it. He seems to always fall in love with the activity we're doing once it's time to go. He thinks about things for a long time and wants to be a pro at them right from the get go, so he gets frustrated when he has to work at it. Now Collin, he hates to get dirty. He seems to always be doing something that gets him dirty but he hates the feeling. He really had a hard time with the sand. He didn't like that it was sticking to him. I think after a while he realized that there was no getting past it. He actually loved the water but was so exhausted and spent the majority of the afternoon napping on his towel. After playing in the ocean we roasted hot dogs and smores. We were all so stinkin cold when the sun went down though so we decided to leave earlier than planned. I learned that being at the beach is relaxing but preparing to go to the beach is a big project. With all of the stuff you need to entertain the kids and the food to munch on it was quiet a load!
